Care at a distance by pharmacists

Covid19 has changed the world. And us. And how we work. No-one doubts that.

The pandemic initially changed the way we do health care by making us ‘go online’ and we did it in so many ways. At first, we embraced telehealth (video, phone, email and texting). As we learned about how the pandemic might affect us, we adjusted how we work.

Pharmacists became more involved in everyday care of people with Covid19. Vaccination programmes, providing home testing for Covid19, and supporting the border requirements for supervised RAT tests, and also dealing with the usual load of conversations with customers about medications, their health issues and giving advice.

What has changed? Have pharmacists started using ‘online’ tools to handle people who need their support and care? Which tools are they using? The best way to find out is to ask them.

We are a research team interested in telehealth. How useful do people find telehealth? How easy is it to use? What does it get used for? We have a survey for pharmacists to complete so that they can tell us what they’re doing. Follow this link to complete our survey (set aside about 20 minutes as we are looking for a comprehensive answer to our questions).
